Dr Nate Porcher, a chiropractor in Arlington Heights, with a happy patient

Your First Appointment

You may be wondering what your initial evaluation entails. Here’s a summary to help you prepare for that first visit:

First, we’re going to sit down with you, get to know you, and collect a thorough history of your current problem, as well as any other related OR un-related health problems (even if you don’t think they’re related to what we do as chiropractors–you might be surprised!)

Next, we will perform a chiropractic exam–looking for motion restriction, bones out of alignment, and anything else in your spine that could be putting pressure on your nerves and causing you to feel the way you feel.

Thirdly, we will perform thorough muscle testing and find out where other root causes of your problem exist in terms of weakness or imbalances, so we can get them corrected also.

When warranted, we will obtain x-rays of your spine and/or area of the problem in order to be thorough, to ensure your problem is something within our scope of practice to treat, and most-of-all, so we can find out EXACTLY where the root problems are and how to get them corrected as quickly as possible.

Lastly, we’ll get your scheduled for your report of findings (Day 2) within the next 24 hours or so, so we have a chance to do a deep dive into your X-rays and create a custom treatment plan to help you achieve your goals, but also to ensure a long-term correction!

Insurance and Self Pay Info

We work with all forms of insurance, however, we are IN-NETWORK and participating providers with Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna.

We are OUT-OF-NETWORK but continually work with United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, and Medicare plans. Many of our patients who have these insurances not only enjoy the benefits of receiving self-pay discounts for their care, but are also provided with a detailed invoice (superbill) to send to their insurance company. Frequently, our patients receive benefits or reimbursement from their insurance companies for the care they receive in our office.

Self-Payers receive significantly discounted fees for their treatment plans, and enjoy a number of payment options. Your Doctor will discuss your payment options with you during your Report of Findings (Day 2).
